What we actually check
A wellness exam here starts with a real look at your pet, not a five-minute once-over. We evaluate overall health and behavior, talk through nutrition, lifestyle and exercise, and run bloodwork and a urinalysis to see what a hands-on exam alone cannot show. Parasite prevention and vaccines get reviewed and updated in the same visit, so nothing falls through the cracks between appointments.
Because our laboratory is in the building, blood and urine work usually comes back the same day instead of a call two days later wondering what it showed. That matters whether you drove in from Kyle or came up from Buda: you leave knowing something, not waiting on it.

Why prevention beats treatment
Dogs and cats are built to hide pain. It is instinct, not stubbornness. A limp, a change in appetite, a little more thirst than usual, these things get explained away at home for weeks before they look serious enough to call about. A wellness exam does not wait for that moment.
This is the whole idea behind prevention being the best medicine, and it is not a slogan here. Catching a change in bloodwork or a shift in weight before it becomes a limp or a real illness is the difference between a conversation and a crisis, and it is almost always the calmer version of the same visit.

The Cat Friendly difference
Kyle Animal Hospital is Cat Friendly Certified through the Feline Veterinary Medical Association, which means the exam is built around how a cat actually experiences a vet visit, not how a dog does. Handling is slower and quieter, restraint is kept to a minimum, and the goal is a cat that leaves the building no more stressed than it walked in.
